Abstract:Today, depression is estimated to affect 350 million people. 1 It is estimated that by the year 2020, the burden of depression will increase to 5.7% of the total burden of the disease and by 2030; it is expected to be the largest contributor to disease burden. 2,3 Women are about twice as likely as men to suffer from depression.
