Prevalence and antibiotic resistance of vancomycin-resistant enterococci in animal originated foods

Abstract: The aim of this work is to identify the parameters influencing the flame behavior. Three different species (Pinus pinaster, Pinus halepensis and Erica arborea) involved in forest fire were crushed to decrease the geometric effects on their combustion. The flaming behavior is studied experimentally from unsteady, axisymmetric, non-premixed laminar flames. The distribution of temperature, the flame geometry, the mass loss as well as the gases released by the fuels are measured. This study confirms the role of th… Show more

“…Lopez et al [10] have recovered E. gallinarum and E. casseliflavus in 12% of dog and healthy human faecal samples. Çetinkaya et al [7] have detected MIC values higher than 256 µg/ml for vancomycin and teicoplanin in E. gallinarum, E. avium isolates. There is no particular protocol suggested by CDC for the patients that are infected or colonized by E. gallinarum.…”

“…In the last decade, studies on examination of nosocomial infectious agents such as methicillin resistant staphylococci, vancomycin resistant enterococci in different animals started to have clinical concern. The emergence of resistance to vancomycin has presented an increasingly important problem in treatment [1,2,[5][6][7][8][9][10] . Various genes including vanA, vanB, vanC, vanD, vanE, van G, vanN and vanM encode vancomycin resistance among enterococci.…”

“…Vancomycin is a antibiotic, strongly affects Gram-positive bacteria for the treatment of serious, life-threatening infections, when other antibiotic treatment did not work (Varela et al, 2013). Vancomycin resistance in enterococci have been occured all over the world since 1986 (Cetinkaya et al, 2013). Vancomycin resistance was described six phenotypes as vanA, vanB, vanC, vanD, vanE and vanG. VanA type strains possess high-levels of resistance to vancomycin and teicoplanin.…”
