Kim and Lee [18,19] reported that aqueous ammonia pretreatment at moderate temperature (60~80 ο C) retained most of the carbohydrates (cellulose and hemicellulose) as solids, but removed significant amounts of the lignin. Therefore, the liquid stream from the SAA treatment contains mostly lignin, and the solids remaining contain glucan and xylan.…”
