Pressure-Temperature-Induced Transformations of Hydrocarbon- Fluorocarbon Mixtures into Nano- and Micron-Size Diamonds

Abstract: Studies of thermal transformations of naphthalene (С 10 Н 8 ), fluorographite (CF 1.1 ) and octafluoronaphthalene (С 10 F 8 ) and their binary mixtures (С 10 Н 8 -CF 1.1 , С 10 Н 8 -C 10 F 8 ) under pressure of 8 GPa have been undertaken as models for gaining understanding of processes of carbonization, graphitization and diamond formation in pure hydrocarbon, fluorocarbon and carbon-hydrogen-fluorine-containing systems under high pressures.
