Pressure distribution in the drafting zone measured by film pressure sensors

Abstract: Frictional force distribution in the drafting zone is a key factor to control the fiber movement during drafting, and hence to determine the quality of the drafted strands. The frictional force is usually expressed by pressure acting on the strand or fibers in the drafting zone. In order to investigate the pressure distribution in the drafting zone, a device was designed with a film pressure sensor, by which the pressure distribution in different drafting forms and drafting parameters was measured. The effects… Show more

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6] Currently, considerable efforts had been committed to study the influence of the drafting process on sliver irregularity. Balasubramanian and Bhatnagar, 7 Graham and Bragg, 8 Siddiqui et al 9 and Qian and Yu 10 studied the effect of the drafting parameters on the drafting efficiency by analyzing the influence of the drafting force experimentally. Recently, Li et al, 11 Wang 12 and Khurshi et al 13 measured and optimized the drafting parameters of different drafting mechanisms.…”
