The lack of karawo motif designs with a Gorontalo regional cultural philosophy causes karawo artisans to lack ideas to design karawo motifs in various design variations. One solution to overcome this is to create a media that can make several variations of the karawo motif design. The method used is an experimental method that consists of (1) preparing image data, (2) making geometric transformations, (3) developing a system using genetic algorithms, (4) implementation, (5) testing system, and Analyze media effectiveness. The drafting system is carried out using one image data, two image data, and three karawo motif image data. These data are then subjected to geometric transformations such as 450 rotation, horizontal flip, and vertical flip. Furthermore, the selection of transformation treatments is carried out by optimizing the fitness function in the genetic algorithm. Testing of the karawo motif arrangement system was carried out on one image data, two image data, and three image data. The N-Gain statistical analysis results from the initial trials and extended trials revealed percentages of 66.9% and 73%, respectively. These figures indicate the effectiveness of the developed media in enhancing the skills and knowledge of artisans in creating karawo motif designs.

The Japanese rice straw culture began in the Yayoi period approximately 2000 years ago. This culture can be found in almost all areas of Japan, including the Nagano Prefecture. One of the supporting elements of the rice straw culture development in this area is because it has been recognized as a potential rice farming area. Based on the historical evidence displayed in a number of museums, there are various traditional uses of rice straw for utility, ritual, and celebration needs. Unfortunately, the number of workshops and craftsmen is currently decreasing due to modernization. However, there are still several workshops that still exist and are actively producing rice straw crafts. Therefore, this research was conducted to understand various supporting aspects in the preservation and development program of rice straw crafts in Nagano Prefecture. From the mapping results in Otarimura and Azumino, it may be concluded that the character of the rice straw crafts produced those areas is through coiling and basket weaving methods. There are five elements that support the development of these crafts, namely human resources, production methods, design development, support from the government and private sector, and the market.

This study aims to preserve the oral tradition of lullabies songs based on local wisdom and music media. The lyrics of lullabi, songs contain local wisdom, that can be used as the children's character development. The strain of its music sounds would build the emotion and positive characters to child in fact the lullabies songs of ethnicities in North Sumatra are not known by the current generation. This condition is a threat to the nation's culture, the value of local wisdom is on the verge of extinction. Also the tenager phase, will experience the gradation of positive character. As a solution, E-culture must be implemented in order to preserves of lullabies songs with the development of ICT, includes (1) management (inventory and identify) of lullabies songs of North Sumatra ethnic, (2) documentation (recording of oral traditional lullabies song, rearranged and digitalized. The study uses qualitative methods, using content analysis through function and meaning. The result showed, that it has been inventoried 13 Lullabies with 6 classifications of local wisdom value. All the lullabies songs, are with soft and calm rhythm. So it can be relied on in forming positive character of the children.
