Presence of exposed phospholipids in the outer membrane of Vibrio cholerae

Abstract: Vibrio choferae 569B was found to be highly sensitive to a wide range of chemicals, particularly hydrophobic compounds and neutral and anionic detergents. The phospholipid profile of the outer membrane was similar to that reported for other Gram-negative bacteria. The lipopolysaccharide (LPS) contained 0-antigenic sugars and exhibited heterogeneity.
