Presença e atuação de mulheres em espaços culturais no Rio de Janeiro do século XIX: o que podem as mulheres em festa?

Abstract

O presente artigo faz um levantamento histórico de relatos sobre a presença e atuação de mulheres, sobretudo de mulheres negras, em festividades no Rio de Janeiro no século XIX. Buscamos (re)arquitetar cenas de convívio social, afim de destacar as subversões temporárias das posições “subalternizadas” da cultura negra e das mulheres em momentos de festa. Com isso, procuramos contribuir com reflexões mais aprofundadas no campo das culturas urbanas, ao considerar as especificidades das experiências históricas dos grupos minoritários que nas práticas artísticas e musicais de perfil politicamente engajado na contemporaneidade. Tendo em vista, as cenas culturais vinculadas a pauta do feminismo da atualidade buscamos destacar a presença histórica das mulheres nos processos culturais da cidade.
