“…Materials based on layered ternary compounds of titanium silicon carbide (Ti 3 SiC 2 ) have attracted worldwide attention because they combine properties typical of ceramics, such as excellent high temperature, strength and stiffness, and good oxidation resistance, with properties comparable to those of metals, such as good thermal and electrical conductivity, resistance to thermal shock, damage tolerance, machinability, and ductility . A critical analysis of the available data on Ti 3 SiC 2 ‐based materials reveals that those being produced by pressure‐assisted processes have the best properties .
