“…Polypyrrole (PPy) is a conjugated polymer formed by the polymerization of pyrrole monomers, 68 and has the advantages of excellent electrical conductivity, biocompatibility, and low cost. 69 After its introduction into hydrogels, although high electrical conductivity can be obtained, the mechanical properties of PPy hydrogels deteriorate. By immersing the pre-prepared brittle PPy hydrogels into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) solution, the mechanical properties of the conductive hydrogels can be effectively improved by utilizing repeated freeze-thawing, mainly due to the extensive hydrogen bonding between PPy and PVA as well as the entangled PVA chains further supporting the skeletal structure of the interconnecting PPy network.…”
