Preparation of Pb<SUP>2+</SUP> Ion Conducting &beta;&Prime;-Alumina and Its Application to Thermodynamic Investigation of Sulfides

Abstract: the following galvanic cell was assembled, and equilibrium emf measurements were carried out in the temperature range from 411 to 1041 K:The standard Gibbs free energy of the following exchange reaction was calculated from the emf's:Pb+Ag2S=2Ag+PbS.The Gibbs energy was in close agreement with the literature value.
