Preparation of nano-fertilizer blend from banana peels

Abstract: Background: Banana contains important nutrients, which could be recycled into useful materials to be reused in different purposes. Extraction of mixed nano bio stimulant fertilizer from banana peels is the main purpose of this investigation. Results: Nano-fertilizer extract was subjected to physical and chemical analyses for characterization. The fertilizer constituent size ranged from 19 to 55 nm, and the histogram illustrates that the major nanoparticles were 40 nm with an average percentage of 36% while 55-… Show more

“…So, at the optimum selected sugar dose is suitable for the maximum methylene blue dye removal which has matching presence of graphene oxide layer. Due to the concept of ZLD (zero liquid discharge), the wastewater carried during this process is mainly sulfuric acid solution with a minimum amount of nano carbon particles, so by the neutralization of this water by potassium hydroxide liquid nano fertilizer, it will be prepared with high cash flow in the production process as shown by Hussein et al (2019). Several adsorption conditions were studied to maximize the obtained adsorbent (NGOCB) adsorption capacity of methylene blue dye from its solutions; these conditions were NGOCB dose, pH, contact time, temperature and initial dye concentration.…”

“…The filtrate is mainly highly concentrated sulfuric acid solution. This acid solution may be used for prepration of nano fertilizer to reach the so-called zero liquid discharge (ZLD) process as mentioned previously by Hussein et al 2019.…”

“…Bands at 1625 cm -1 may be assigned to a combination of C=C stretching vibrations of the aromatic ring structures or to systems such as diketone, ketoester, and quinone [32]. The band at 1734 cm -1 can be attributed to axial deformation vibrations of C=O in carboxylic acids or esters presents in the banana peel [25]. The band at 1750 cm -1 can be attributed to an ester, the band at 2927 cm -1 is due to methylcellulose, and the band at 3400 cm -1 is assigned to hydroxylic groups [33].…”

“…In this context other natural adsorbents have been extensively researched, such as coconut shell, palm and bamboo, orange skin, and rice husk [21][22][23][24]. Banana peel, which is usually used as fertilizer or animal feed [25], is a type of natural adsorbent that has been used in the development of analytical methods.…”
