“…Among these methods are the sol-gel technique, laser heating, mechanochemical process, solvent-thermal process, hydrothermal synthesis, microwave heating synthesis, and homogeneous precipitation (Chang et al, 2008;Lupan et al, 2007;Mozaffari, Ebrahimi, Daneshfozon, & Amighian, 2008;Pedram, Shahram, & Ali, 2010;Zheng & An, 2008). In most of these approaches, nanoparticles tend to agglomerate, due to large specific surface area as well as high surface energy.…”

“…17,20,21 A combination of mechanical and thermal treatment is often used in a procedure that includes several steps. Mechanical treatment with a ball milling technique has been applied to synthesize Ni-Zn ferrite from initial mixtures of NiO, ZnO 25 and ZnO and Fe 2 O 3 powders. Variations of the mechanical treatment method include the duration of the preheating process as well as the number and the duration of heating steps to anneal after the mechanical treatment.…”

“…The magnetic behaviors of Mn-Zn ferrites which are used in a certain application depend strongly on their microstructure, particularly on their average particle size; this, in turn, is affected by the preparation method [1]. So far, several techniques have been used to synthesize these types of soft ferrites [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Among those preparation methods, the mechanochemical synthesis includes mechanical alloying of solid-state displacement reactions in a ball mill.…”

“…Many researchers have used the mechanical alloying technique to produce Mn-Zn ferrite from the oxides of starting materials [4,6]; however, to the best of our knowledge, no research has been conducted to produce a desired ferrite by using the system of Zn/MnO 2 /Fe 2 O 3 . Therefore, in this paper, it was attempted: (i) to investigate in-situ formation of nanocrystalline Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 spinel ferrite phase by executing a mechanochemical process starting from a Zn, MnO 2 and Fe 2 O 3 powder mixture and a ZnO, MnO and Fe 2 O 3 powder mixture, (ii) to compare the mechanisms of formation in those two systems, and (iii) to study the structural changes during the mechanochemical process for both the systems.…”
