Preparation of Heat Insulating Nanocomposite Film with MPS (Mercaptopropyl Trimethoxysilane) Coated-Nanoparticles

Abstract: To improve the heat insulating property of plastic films, SiO 2 nanoparticles as inorganic insulating filler were prepared from sodium metasilicate by emulsion method in reverse micelle. MgO, Al 2 O 3 and CaO nanoparticles were also prepared. Surface modifications of synthesized heat insulating nanoparticles were accomplished with MPS (mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane) coating to maximize homogeneous distribution and compatibility between obtained heat insulating nanoparticles and EVA (ethylene vinylacetate). F… Show more

“…Recently worldwide material research mainly focused on the development of technology for environmental protection and energy conservation. In this sense, transparent heat insulating coatings have attracted great attention for their wide applications especially in construction technology [75,76]. Antimony doped tin oxide (ATO) is a well-known optically transparent, infrared light insulating and electrically conducting oxide [77,78].…”
