Preparation of Graphene Nanolayers through Surfactant-assisted Pure Shear Milling Method

Abstract: In this study, graphite powder was used to prepare few-layer graphene sheets through shear milling. During the process, graphite was well dispersed in double distilled water as a lubricant and sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS), followed by shaking and milling under low energy. The exerted sheer force led to the continuous delamination of graphene flakes. The microstructural investigation was performed by SEM. In addition, the energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis was performed to determine distinct lev… Show more

“…The fabrication of composites can easily be prepared via the electrospinning technique; however, the only restriction is that the second phase should be well dispersed or soluble in the primary solu- tion. This technique has been developed approximately for a century and can be considered as sub-branches of the electrospray process [93][94][95]. During the electrospinning process, the elongation of the liquid drop occurs by increasing the electric field.…”

“…The sol-gel technique is an extensively used method to synthesize highly pure and homogeny products [93,110,111]. Depending on the homogeneity degree of the gel, two types of the sol-gel method are known: monophasic and diphasic.…”

“…Polymer and polymer composites are gaining increasing attention in various applications [9,[17][18][19][20][21][22]. This is due to the possibility to benefit from the combination of properties related to contributing constituents [23][24][25][26][27][28]. Due to high stiffness, full usage of materials and high strength composite columns have been increasingly used recently [29][30][31].…”

“…Chen et al [30] also manufactured effective nanoplatforms of GO and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanomaterials for NIR-based PTT. In addition, many reports have demonstrated successful cancer therapy in-vivo and in-vitro with nanomaterials based on graphene as PTT agents, and also their combination with chemical conjugations, surface modification, ultrasound, imaging-guided, PDT, and chemotherapy to improve the therapeutic efficacy and tune their properties in biological systems [31]. In recent years, there have been novel therapeutic methods/ strategies and more functionalized nanocomposite based on graphene to improve the therapeutic efficiency of PTT.…”
