Preparation of endostatin-loaded chitosan nanoparticles and evaluation of the antitumor effect of such nanoparticles on the Lewis lung cancer model

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to prepare ES-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (ES-NPs) and evaluate the antitumor effect of these particles on the Lewis lung cancer model. ES-NPs were prepared by a simple ionic cross-linking method. The characterization of the ES-NPs, including size distribution, zeta potential, loading efficiency and encapsulation efficiency (EE), was performed. An in vitro release test was also used to determine the release behavior of the ES-NPs. Cell viability and cell migration were assayed t… Show more

“…Chitosan is a non-toxic material widely used as nanoparticle-forming polymer. 11 Therefore, this study designed to prepare nano chitosan-Annona squamosa leaf extract to enhance their bioactivities as the anticancer agent on HeLa cells to evaluate the caspase expression as one of apoptosis marker of cells.…”

“…In the present study, the combination of pH – and temperature – responsive properties were generated by means of graft copolymerization of chitosan (CS) with poly( N -isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) so as to carry out these dual-responsive functions concurrently. As is well known (Chan et al., 2007 ), CS (2-amino-2-deoxy-(1 → 4)-β- d -glucosamine), which is obtained from chitin by deacetylation, is considered to be one of the most widely distributed cationic biopolymers (Ding et al., 2017 ). It has good biocompatibility and biodegradability and has been used extensively in the preparation of safe biomaterials.…”
