et al.

Abstract: Fiber laser is a fundamental component of laser systems and is of great significance for the development of laser technology. Its pulse output can be divided into Q-switched and mode-locked. Achieving ultrashort pulse with narrower pulse duration and higher power is the focus of current research on mode-locked lasers. As an important component of fiber laser systems, saturable absorber (SA) can modulate losses in the optical cavity and generate pulses, enabling the laser system to achieve pulse output under lo… Show more

“…In addition to the aforementioned studies, nonlinear multimodal interference (NL-MMI) related saturable absorber behavior in GIMFs is theoretically proposed by Mafi et al [5] Subsequently, numerous experimental investigations on NL-MMI based mode-locked lasers have been performed in different dispersion regimes. [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14] On the other hand, due to the multimodal interactions in GIMFs, the phase difference between excitation modes will undergo periodic changes, resulting in coherent mode superposition and stable fundamental transverse mode generation. [15] In the meantime, the mode with the largest relative intensity can be maximally coupled into the following single-mode fiber (SMF), thus realizing the mode selection between GIMF and SMF.…”
