Preparation of a Library of EDTA Amide x-Aminenaphthalene-y-sulfonic Acid Derivatives on Solid Phase and Their Fluorescence Behavior toward Transition Metals

Abstract: In this work, we report the synthesis of a combinatorial library of 80 derivatives of EDTA amide x-aminenaphthalene-y-sulfonic acid on four different supports with variable length linker. The sensing fluorescence behavior of these materials for transitions metals was studied by packing the beads into a conventional flow-through cell in a continuous flow injection set up. The fluorescence emission response of these materials shows that sensors supported in Argopore (a) with the fluorescence moiety of 1-aminenap… Show more

“…It has been pointed out that the red shift in a fluorescence spectrum is a consequence of the local molecular viscosity of the polymer 13. Altogether, attachment of the amine increases the structural rigidity of the resin 14…”

“…In addition, in SPOS the reactions are quantitative and easy to develop, and furthermore, products are easily isolated, avoiding the use of complicated purification processes commonly necessary in traditional organic chemistry, such as column chromatography, HPLC or solvent extraction. Polymeric resins are interesting due to their native fluorescence; coupling of different molecules leads to a new fluorescent property confirming when a reaction step is accomplished . Fluorimetric analysis gained popularity in the last years, and it is one of the most powerful techniques for analyzing solid phase reactions due to its simplicity, sensitivity and nondestructive analysis.…”

“…Fluorimetric analysis gained popularity in the last years, and it is one of the most powerful techniques for analyzing solid phase reactions due to its simplicity, sensitivity and nondestructive analysis. This allows the monitoring of the reaction steps following the change in the fluorescence occasioned by the change of functional group . In this work, we report the preparation of twenty four new enantioselective reducing complexes derived from Alkali metal tetrahydroboratesand chiral chelating resins starting out with Merrifield and Wang resins.…”
