For example, two ferrocene carboxylate-based frameworks (FCFs) supported by hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions, [FcCO-(CH 2 ) 2 COOH] and [FcCOOH] Fc = (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )­Fe­(η 5 -C 5 H 4 ) displayed excellent water stability and ultrahigh σ values of 1.17 × 10 –1 and 1.01 × 10 –2 S/cm (100 °C, 98% RH), respectively. Furthermore, several other ferrocene-based aromatic carboxylate frameworks have shown good proton conductivity and water stability, implying that ferrocenyl carboxylic acid derivatives could be efficient proton conductors.…”
