Preparation, characterization and catalytic activity studies of organoruthenium‐supported polyoxotungstates on SBA‐15

Abstract: Organoruthenium-supported polyoxometalates [(RuC 6 H 6 )XW 9 O 34 ] 7À (XWRu; X = As, P) were selected as samples to study their catalytic activities towards the solvent-free oxidation of n-hexadecane. First of all, the XWRu were deposited on 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilanemodified SBA-15 to prepare solid catalysts, which were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption measurements, Fourier transform infrared reflectance spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Subsequently, their… Show more

“…[115] Among all mentioned catalysts, phosphotungstic acid (PTA) shows the highest activity, but its poor stability and high solubility in the reaction solution hinder its large‐scale application [116] . A viable strategy for improving the performance of PTA is to incorporate them into solid carriers, such as silica, [117] molecular sieves, [118] and metal oxides [119] . Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), a kind of novel crystalline porous material, has been considered as a candidate for the catalyst carriers owing to its high surface areas, modifiable compositions and easy functionalization [120] .…”

“…[4][5][6] Importantly, the introduction of some organic or organometallic groups into the POM system can adjust the redox, acid-base properties and solubility of POMs, which can enhance some performances and functions of POMs and then extend their application in biomedicine, materials science, optics and catalysis fields. [7][8][9][10][11][12] At present, many OM-POMs, including POMs modified with organorhodium, organoruthenium, organoantimony, organotin, etc. have been successfully synthesized under certain conditions.…”
