Preparation and Spectral Properties of Mixed‐Ligand Complexes of VO(IV), Ni(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) with Dimethylglyoxime and N‐acetylglycine

Abstract: A number of mixed-ligand complexes of the general formula [M(D)(G)] where D=dimethylglyoximato monoanion, G=N-acetylglycinato and M=VO(IV), Ni(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) were prepared. Each complex was characterized by elemental analysis, determination of metal, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, (1H and13C) NMR spectra, conductivity and magnetic moments. All these complexes were not soluble in some of the organic solvent but highly soluble in dimethylformamide. The conductivity data showed the … Show more

“…Although NMR signals from DMG could not be detected in the aqueous supernatant from liver homogenate, diagnostic signals assigned to the methyl carbon (12.0 ppm) and protons (2.04 ppm), and to the oxime carbon (157.8 ppm) were observed in the chloroform extracts of the same supernatant (Supplemental Fig. S1, Panels A1 and A2) 50 . In contrast these signals were absent in the chloroform extracts derived from liver samples of the no DMG-control mice (Fig.…”

“…The electronic spectra of the Co(II) complexes with HL 1 and HL 2 ligands exhibit one and three absorption band at 677 nm and (615,678,909) nm which are attributed to 4 A 2 → 4 T 1P and 4 T 1g → 4 T 1g(P) , 4 T 1g → 4 A 2g(F) and 4 T 1g → 4 A 2gF respectively. Furthermore, the magnetic moment of the Co(II)(d7) complexes was found to be 4.1 and 4.8 B.M., All the above mentioned data correspond to an tetrahedral and octahedral geometry respectively [18][19][20]. The electronic spectra of the Ni(II) complexes with HL 1 and HL 2 ligands exhibit one and three absorption band at 797 nm and (597, 690, 780) nm which are attributed to 3 T 1 → 3 T 1P and 3 A 2g → 3 T 1gP , 3 A 1g → 3 T 1gF and 3 A 1g → 3 T 2gF respectively.Furthermore , the magnetic moment of the Ni(II) (d8) complexes is found to be 3.9 and 2.80 B.M., All the above mentioned data correspond to an tetrahedral and octahedral geometry respectively [18][19][20].…”

“…The band at 533 nm denoted to the 6 A 1g → 5 T 2g (G) transition in octahedral geometry of the complex. [ 49 ] The remarked value of magnetic moment for Fe( III ) complex was established to be 5.84 B.M., which demonstrated an octahedral geometry together with d 2 sp 3 hybridization in Fe( III ) complex. The UV spectrum of the Ni( II ) complex presented two bands at 499 and 562 nm due to 3 A 2g → 3 T 1g (P) and 3 A 2g → 3 T 1g (F) transitions; the actual value of magnetic moment (3.32 B.M.)…”
