Preparation and Reactions of Di-1,3,5-triazinyl Ethers. I. Preparation of Di-1,3,5-triazinyl Ethers

Abstract: Di-1,3,5-triazinyl ethers have been prepared by the condensation of 2-chloro-1,3,5-triazines with potassium 1,3,5-triazin-2-olate in acetonitrile in the presence of a small amount of cyclic polyether. Di-1,3,5-triazinyl ether was also prepared by the reaction of 2-chloro-1,3,5-triazine with potassium nitrite.

“…triazine (17b) with N 2 O 5 in dichloromethane at 0 ± 5 8C (the molar ratio 17 : N 2 O 5 is 1.0 : 3.3) afforded nitramines 18a,b (yields 95% and 78%, respectively). 37 The nitration of 2,4,6-triazetidino-1,3,5triazine (19) under analogous conditions yields a mixture of products which contains nitramine nitrate 20 (60%) and nonidentified compounds. 38 Some characteristics of triazine 18a (its commercial name is `Tris-X') have been reported: 39 m.p.…”
