“…Since the Cu + ions and Cu 2+ ions in CuO clusters or [Cu-O-Cu] 2+ are silent for EPR, these spectra can, with high probability, be assigned to isolated Cu 2+ ions [25][26][27] the EPR spectra for corresponding copper species are given in Table 2. The g and A parameters of these species are close to those ascribed in the literature to octahedral coordination [10,18,[28][29][30]. The largest intensity of the EPR spectra is observed for the high Cu-loaded catalyst prepared by the ion exchange method (1.92 wt.% Cu in Cu-MFI a ).…”

“…One such reaction that is effected photochemically with these SSHCs is the reduction of CO 2 with H 2 O (Anpo et al 1997). Another is the breakdown of NO (Anpo et al 1994). Yet, another example is the general decomposition of undesirable molecules with SSHCs (Anpo & Thomas 2006) as well as the selective oxidation of CO in the presence of H 2 (Kamegawa et al 2007).…”

“…[15,20] Anpo et al observed three bands in the photoluminescence spectrum at 420 nm, 470 nm, and 520 nm of Cu-ZSM-5. [21] The last band and an excitation band at 310 nm were assigned to Cu I dimer species, while the other two were attributed to isolated Cu I species. Here we note in passing that in the ZSM-5 samples investigated by all these groups the number of Cu ions per unit cell was two at most; this fact renders the occurrence of Cu I pairs rather unlikely.…”
