Abstract: BACKGROUND Resection remains the optimal treatment for hemangioblastomas, highly vascular tumors commonly located in the cerebellum or spinal cord. Preoperative embolization can be used with caution to reduce intraoperative blood loss and promote gross-total resection while reducing neurological morbidity.
