Abstract: Glucocorticoids (GCs) are steroid hormones fundamental to the body’s normal physiological functions and are pivotal in fetal growth and development. During gestation, the mother’s cortisol concentration (active GCs) escalates to accommodate the requirements of fetal organ development and maturation.
