Preliminary study on the effect of iba on the cuttings of Bambusa vulgaris Schrad. Ex J.C. Wendi

Abstract: This study investigated the effect of IBA on the sprouting and growth of Bambusa vulgaris cuttings. Forty (40) culm cuttings of two nodes per cutting were divided into four (4) batches with each batch containing ten (10) cuttings. Each batch was subjected to one hour (60min) soaking in Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) Treatment as follows; T1 soaked in 300ppm, T2 in 400ppm, T3 soaked in 500ppm and T4 was the Control (cuttings were not soaked in IBA).
