“…A few faults overlooked in this examination, but recorded by previous workers in published reports (Scott and Castellanos, 1984;Maldonado and Koether, 1983;Spengler et al, 1979;Spengler and Chornack, 1984;Spengler et ai., 1981), were added to the data. Distinct stratal inclinations also were noted; these were combined with dips published in the above reports.…”

“…Borehole UE25a-1, hereafter referred to as A-l, was drilled during 1978 in an area known informally as Drill Hole Wash, a northwest oriented dry stream bed crossing the eastern boundary of Yucca Mountain. The borehole reached a depth of 762 m, penetrating the same upper section as the G-3 borehole ( Figure 2) and terminating in the Bullfrog Member of the Crater Flat Tuff [Spengler et al, 1979]. In addition a 6.7-m section of the Pah Canyon Member of the Paintbrush Tuff was encountered.…”

“…At YM, m r k e mapping showed the existence of a relatively undisturbed structural block, potentially large enough for a repository. In 1978, an exploratory hole confirmed the presence of thick sequence of voicanic much of it rich in sorptive zeolite minerals (Spengler et al, 1979).…”
