“…52,53 The International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD) access guidelines 60 suggest some clinical targets of surgical site infection less than 5% within 30 days of insertion, and visceral injury and significant bleeding being both less than 1%. In our review, other outcomes have also been reported frequently like postoperative pain, 35,37,42,43,45,52,53 length of wound, 35,37,45 and incidence of delayed wound healing. 44,49 Postoperative pain is patient-centered and may warrant further characterization in terms of incidence and may be considered as targets for future ISPD PD access guidelines.…”

“…Zhu et al [16] introduced ureteroscope-assisted catheter placement via a 16-Fr peel-away sheath in 47 patients. Recently, Xiaoqiang et al [17] described cystoscopy-assisted catheter placement in 14 patients and reported a lower rate of surgical complications compared with an open surgery group. Goh et al [18] reported 91 peritoneoscopic Tenckhoff catheter insertions in 83 patients, with a 1-year catheter survival of 86.5%.…”
