Preliminary Phytochemical Screening of Salacia Macrosperma
Abstract:The present task deals with phytochemical studies of Salacia macrosperma. The phytochemicals screened were carried out to know about the quantitative existence of secondary metabolites, such as saponins, steroids, flavonoids, quinine, glycosides, phlobatannin and tannins and have been carried out. The result of the study showed that the plant root and leaf were rich in steroids, saponins and quinone. The phlobatannin reported negative test in the study.
