The abundant geochemical and geologic information that was gathered for the Tonopah 1 °X2° quadrangle during the Conterminous United States Mineral Assessment Program (CUSMAP) and that has been interpreted in various ways (Nash, 1988;Orris and Kleinhampl, 1986;John, 1987) is an excellent database for experimental application of newly developed computer technology (Dwyer and others, 1987).
