Abstract:Background:
Different techniques have been described for removing a diseased gall bladder; however, cholecystectomy via the laparoscopic approach is currently regarded as the gold standard. Laparoscopic surgery services are not widely available in low- and middle-income countries and mini-laparotomy cholecystectomy may be a suitable alternative in such circumstances. This technique achieves cholecystectomy with a smaller incision and affords the advantages of the laparoscopic approach.
