“…This study evaluated the prevalence of stress, anxiety, and depression and explored the associated risk factors among pregnant women visiting prenatal care clinics in Jeddah. In this study, 58.5% of the pregnant women who were surveyed were at a high risk of developing an anxiety disorder (according to the PASS), which is slightly higher than the proportion (43.5%) reported by Akinsulore et al [ 13 ]. Furthermore, 70.5% of the participants reported anxiety symptoms; most (44.5%) had only mild-moderate symptoms, and 26.0% had severe symptoms.…”

“…Unlike this study, a study at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, found a relationship between educational level and depression, which could also be attributed to the use of different depression scales [ 10 ]. Furthermore, a Nigerian study reported that pregnancy-related anxiety was significantly associated with education and that women with low levels of education were more likely to suffer from anxiety [ 13 ].…”

“…We investigated the prevalence of PRA in Chinese pregnant women and explored the mediating role of resilience. PRA occurred in 41.4% of pregnancies in our study, which is similar to the reported prevalence in south-west Nigeria (43.5%) [ 10 ]. And the level of PRA yielded by us is much higher than that reported in the Netherlands (11%) [ 13 ], Tanzania (25%) [ 8 ], Iran (21%) [ 55 ] and Qatar (26.5%) [ 25 ], whilst it was lower than what was reported in India (55.7%) [ 11 ].…”

“…The worse thing is that PRA is a widespread problem among pregnant women during pregnancy. The prevalence of PRA accounted from 23.6 to 55% in developing countries [7][8][9][10][11], and the magnitude of PRA in developing countries was estimated to be 6% to 29% in international studies [12][13][14]. In China, the incidence of PRA was about 21 − 30% under the one-child policy before 2016 [15], and 29 − 32% under the two-child policy before May 2021 [16,17].…”

“…In the literature, it has been proven that anxiety increases in the last trimester of pregnancy (Kitapcıoglu, Yanıkkerem, Sevil and Yuksel, 2008). In a study done, it was found that the factors that contribute significantly to pregnancy-related high anxiety symptoms in pregnant women are older maternal age and social and medical concerns (Akinsulore, Temidayo, Oloniniyi, Olalekan and Yetunde, 2021). In the research, it is observed that pregnant women are getting worried as the delivery approaches.…”
