Pregnancy and offspring sex ratio following insemination with SexedULTRA and conventional semen in cows in a commercial beef operation

Abstract: Y-sorted semen (SS) is designed for the deliberate production of genetically superior bull calves, thereby accelerating production parameters in a cattle operation. A limitation is that insemination with SS results in pregnancies ranging from 75% to 90%, that is a 5% to 10% point decrease from conventional semen (CS) in pregnancy rate per AI (PR/AI) (Maicas et al., 2019;Seidel Jr, 2014).
