“…Same-length needles were usually chosen to improve the voltage distribution along the inner surface of the switch chamber, pre-fires were still frequently found during the experiments. KIM et al studied the breakdown characteristics and jitter characteristics of switches in different voltage-equalizing modes, and obtained the conclusion that the breakdown voltage with the needle is lower than the DC breakdown voltage at the same gap [15] 。Jiang Xiaofeng, Jiang Zhanxing and other people also studied the influence of the corona current on the breakdown voltage and jitter of the switch [16][17][18][19][20][21] 。Liu Xianfei analyzed the influence of the insulating gas on the breakdown voltage [22] 。Although many efforts have been made to improve the switching performance, it remains difficult to study the relationship between switch performance and the corona current difference in each gap. Therefore, in this paper, a comparison study of corona discharge current of a multi-gap switch for LTD from the aspects of self-breakdown voltage and jitter is presented.…”
