Les années suivantes, elle est devenue l'un des écrivains les plus importants et les plus respectés de la « littérature coloniale » portugaise. L'objectif principal de cet article est de contribuer à la connaissance des expériences et de la littérature coloniales de cet auteur, en exposant leur problématique à la lumière de l'hégémonie masculine qui a marqué la production de connaissances et la réflexion publique sur l'« empire ».
