advances in non-linear Raman techniques and interesting research results and engineering applications reported in this issue are in many ways representative of the state of the art in the field of non-linear Raman spectroscopy 75 years after the Nobel Prize for the discovery of Raman scattering and 40 years after the first experiments on coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS), providing, at the same time, new and interesting perspectives on recent trends in this field.
