Predictors of mortality for preterm infants with intraventricular hemorrhage: a population-based study

Abstract

This database is the first of its kind assembled for population-based investigations of long-term neurosurgical outcomes in preterm infants with IVH.

“…Risk of mortality appears to increase with the severity of the bleed. A 4:1 incidence of mortality is seen in infants with severe grades of hemorrhaging versus those with mild grades(75). This further highlights a need for proper critical care management and better clinical practices surrounding IVH cases.…”

Intraventricular Hemorrhages in Neonatology: Prediction of the Lethal Cases in Premature Infants

Добре відомо, що показники летальності залежать від гестаційного віку, проте наявна обмежена кількість досліджень, які б пояснювали причини збільшення цього показника [5][6][7].…”
