Predictors of Large Esophageal Varices in Cirrhotic Patients Presenting to a Tertiary Care Centre in South India

Abstract: BACKGROUNDVariceal bleeding is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in cirrhosis and endoscopic examination is not accessible in most rural centers. The aim of the study is to identify the clinical, hematological, biochemical, and ultrasonographic parameters that predict the presence of large esophageal varices in patients with cirrhosis.
