“…Neither age >65 years and gender affect the outcome of the patients as reported in a study. 27 Hematoma volume >30 ml predicts poor outcome as already proved in other studies. 16,21 Although site of hematoma was reported to affect outcome, 21 we did not found any correlation between the site and functional outcomes.…”

“…The method used was given in only 9 studies; 5 used "clinic" BP measurement, 3 used both "clinic" BP measurement and ambulatory BP monitoring, and 1 used ambulatory BP monitoring alone. The criteria used to define high BP varied considerably: SBP thresholds ranged from 150 to 200 mm Hg, 16 -18 MABP levels of 140 to 145 mm Hg, 16,19 and DBP between 90 and 115 mm Hg. 16,20 -22 One article did not specify the criteria used for defining high BP 23 ; this study was analyzed with the publications that dichotomized according to MABP.…”

“…Our findings of initial GCS score between patients with hematoma expansion and without hematoma expansion did not show as an indicator of hematoma expansion. Initial GCS score has known to be associated with patients' clinical outcome regardless of hematoma expansion rather than risk factor of hematoma expansion 3,27,32) . It has been hypothesized by many that certain shape of the hematoma, volume of hematoma and location of hematoma on initial CT scans are associated with presence of hematoma expansion.…”
