Prediction temperature field and wax deposition based on heat–fluid coupling method

Abstract: Wax deposition can reduce flow channel, increase the resistance and decrease fluid producing intensity in oil pipelines, which bring a critical operational challenge for the oil development. The prediction of temperature field and wax deposition location is the basis in thermal washing and wax removal. In this paper, the wells of sucker rod pump in Da Qing oil field is selected as the research object, a new method is proposed to predict temperature field and wax deposition location based on heat-fluid coupling… Show more

“…The prediction of wellbore temperature and pressure field has always been a major problem of common concern to scientists [1] because it is related to the accurate construction of oil production technology [2,3], the safety of pipe string [4][5][6], the normal use of various downhole tools [7], the reliability of production process [8], and the wax and scale prevention of oil and gas wells affected by temperature and pressure [9][10][11][12]. Nowadays, in the daily production process of gas wells, the phase change of natural gas in the wellbore is becoming more and more common [13,14].…”

“…Results show that WAT grows with an increase in the concentration of wax in solution, increase in pressure, water cut, shear rate, the addition of mechanical impurities and decrease in gap size of the measuring system. Zhang et al (2019) proposed a new method for wax deposition location based on heat-fluid coupling method. The regularities of temperature distribution and wax deposition location were simulated with different fluid producing intensities and moisture contents.…”

“…The effect of temperature of water for cases (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7) For the flow rate of 0.3 m/s of the water, the different temperatures from 55°C to 85°C are considered to investigate the effect on the melting process. The cases (1-7) of Table 2 represent these seven cases.…”
