Abstract:The calculation of limit loads of slabs using the yield-line theory requires the assumption of a kinematical collapse mechanism. In recent years several approaches concerning the optimization of predefined mechanisms have been introduced. Usually they contain semi-automatic procedures which depend on user-defined yield-line predictions. This paper presents a systematic approach and a numerical procedure to find yield-line predictions for arbitrary all-side supported slabs.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
