Prediction of whiteness index of cotton using bleaching process variables by fuzzy inference system

Abstract: Whiteness is an aspect of color resultant by high luminosity with an absence of any hue (Wyszecki and Stiles 1982;Steen and Dupont 2003;Choudhury 2006). A white plane reflects more than 50% light all over the visible spectrum. The whiter appearance of the substance depends on the uniformity of the spectral reflectance and percentages of light reflection (Akgun 2015). White is an achromatic color and characterized by constant absorption from 400 to 700 nm wave length (Zollinger 2003).Cotton owns a natural color… Show more

“…As evidenced by visual perception, it is noted that curaua fibers WI showed to be satisfactory and was meaningly higher than red pineapple fibers (≈ 50% superior). Comparing with hydrogen peroxide bleached cotton whiteness index values found in literature [33][34][35], ranging from 47 to 72, the red pineapple fibers whiteness index was lower. Figure 10 shows the visual aspect of dyed PALF samples.…”

“…In this study, the collected experimental data was taken from Haque et al (2018), and Haque and Islam (2015). In their studies, single jersey cotton knitted fabric of 130 grams per cubic centimeter was used as the fabric samples and a 12.5 g of fabric sample with a 1:10 material liquor ratio was treated in each bleaching time.…”
