This paper describes a numerical method of 2way fluid structure interaction (FSI) analysis, based on CFD/CSD models with low computational solution time. The 2way fluid structure analysis was used to obtain the dynamic response of DIFIS System riser tubes (RTD) under sea currents motion. DIFIS System was proposed for oil recovery from shipwrecks and for the elimination of the pollution threat. The computational analyses of the risers were performed in SIMULIA Abaqus. The analysis of polyethylene riser was based on the calibrated numerical results, experimental results from hydrochannel tests and a structural dynamics methodology. The polyethylene riser experience a damped oscillatory motion under operational loads. Existing experiment outputs and 1way fluid structure interaction analysis results were used as benchmark to verify the simulated results. In overall, the comparison between the results of this survey and hydrochannel experiments and 1way fluid structure interaction analyses of polyethylene riser prove the excellent performance of Abaqus cosimulation execution.
