Prediction of Successful Induction of Labor using Ultrasonic Fetal Parameters

Abstract: Background: Induction of labor (IOL) is a common obstetrical procedure. Bishop's score was the single predictor element used by practitioners to assess the risk of failure, which led to an increase in cesarean sections (CS). Ultrasound (US) examination was proposed since the variability limitations of Bishop score warranted alternative assessment tools. Objective: This study verifies how the US and other maternal parameters are used in the transperineal approach as an indication and as a predictor of succe… Show more

“…Fortunately, this lady had a large primary benign ovarian tumor that urged more detailed evaluation, leading to a small RCC discovery in the left kidney. Imaging tests have promoted women's health in multiple ways [16]. In ADPKD, they help to identify the disease and its extrarenal symptoms, including cystic liver disorders and intracranial aneurysms.…”

“…However, there have been concerns about increased cesarean section rates associated with labor induction. 25,28,29 Therefore, further studies are necessary to compare the maternal and neonatal outcomes of labor induction with spontaneous labor at these gestational ages. Similarly, estimated fetal weight of 2.5kg to 3.9 kg doubled the odds of achieving vaginal delivery.…”

“…No entanto, tem havido preocupações sobre o aumento das taxas de cesarianas associadas à indução do parto. 25,28,29 Por conseguinte, são necessários mais estudos para comparar os resultados maternos e neonatais da indução do trabalho de parto com o parto espontâneo nestas idades gestacionais. Do mesmo modo, o peso fetal estimado de 2,5kg a 3,9kg duplicou as probabilidades de se conseguir um parto vaginal.…”
