“…It was determined as 1.4 g/cm 3 using a volumetric flask by immersing the SAP in two different liquids, namely, silicone oil and isopropanol, after confirming that the SAP neither dissolve in nor absorb these fluids. The density of the pore solution was taken as 1 g/cm 3 , based on [9]. Finally, the absorption of the SAP by mass was found to be about 16.4 g pore fluid /g SAP (Table 4).…”

“…During hydration in sealed conditions, the capillary pores in the hardening cement paste of a UHPC progressively empty since the hydration products have lower volume than the sum of the volumes of unhydrated cement and water (chemical shrinkage) [8]. The radius of the menisci at the interface between air and pore fluid progressively decreases as the largest pores empty and the porosity fills up with hydration products [9]. As a consequence, the internal relative humidity (RH) decreases (self-desiccation), the pore fluid is subjected to increasing capillary tension, and the porous skeleton to increasing compressive stress that results in autogenous shrinkage [8].…”

“…Ya para espesores elevados el incremento fue lento -de 0,025 mL/g para 24 horas de edad, a 0,05mL/g para 28 días de edad. Por su parte, Chen et al (2013) verificaron el mismo comportamiento.…”
