Introduction of Availability Based Tariff (ABT), signifies the importance of frequency prediction by bringing in the concept of frequency sensitive unscheduled interchange (UI) charge of energy drawn in deviation from the pre-committed daily schedule. Accurate predicted frequency facilitates the system operators in the decision process of precise generation scheduling (GS). Traditional approaches of frequency prediction are not producing satisfactory results. In this paper we considered the dependency of frequency on various parameters that affect the frequency regime in power system. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based model (Back propagation network) has been used in this paper to solve this problem. The data obtained from North Regional Load Dispatch Center (NRLDC) for the period from January 2005 to December 2007 has been used for training, validating and testing the ANN model. The performance of proposed model has been analyzed using the error indices; Absolute Percentage Error (APE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed ANN model to solve the frequency prediction problem over the traditional techniques, in terms of reduced MAPE.

By analysis of working principle of elastic steel plate type load moment limiter, the nonlinear relation between the load moment and the horizontal displacement of moment limiter is indicated. This paper proposes a soft-sensing model based on functional link neural network (FLNN) with the horizontal displacement of moment limiter as input and the load moment as output. The model can apply the single-layer network to realize the network supervised learning by adding some high-order terms. The method can improve network learning speed and simplify the network structure, and provides a new way for On-line measurement of tower crane load moment. The Monitor System of Load Moment based on FLNN about tower crane QTZ5012 is presented, the practical application show that the monitoring system implements realtime display of load moment at a low cost and improves the safety in operation, the maximum relative error is reduced to 2.02% and can satisfy the National standard GB5144-94.

Kratak sadržaj: U radu se izlažu karakteristike i praktične mogućnosti računarskog programa za brzu ocenu rada i efekata primarne regulacije učestanosti elektroenergetskih interkonekcija. On je baziran na dve metode. Prva metoda spada u kategoriju analitičkih metoda, u kojoj formirani analitički izrazi, za početne uslove koji nisu nulti, uz niz pogodnosti koje pruža sama analitička forma, omogućavaju uvažavanje eventualnih strukturnih promena u EES tokom analiziranog procesa. Druga metoda je simulaciona metoda, koja se svodi na rekurentnu primenu pogodno koncipiranih, potpuno raspregnutih diferencnih jednačina. Mogućnosti i karakteristike ovog računarskog programa utvrđuju se najpre za slučaj izolovanog rada EES Srbije, a zatim za slučaj uvažavanja njegovog širokog okruženja.
