Prediction of Mechanical Strength by Using an Artificial Neural Network and Random Forest Algorithm

Abstract: Geopolymer concrete could be the best alternative to ordinary Portland cement concrete due to its higher performance in any severe condition. It reduces the carbon footprints to a very higher level. Machine learning methods are the future of the construction industry because it predicts the mechanical strengths of concrete mix design on the basis of their constituents without destructive test conduction. This study is aimed at developing the models to predict the mechanical strengths and validate them with the… Show more

“…Despite this, RCA continues to be used as a filler in road fills, landfills, and embankments all over the globe [24]. Despite this, India is the world's second-largest producer of construction and demolition waste, with an annual output of 530 million tonnes [25]. The vast bulk of the C&D waste that is produced in India is added to one of the most significant sources of solid trash in the nation [26].…”

“…However, the mechanical and durability characteristics of concrete may also be impacted by RCA usage [18]. Studies have revealed that when the amount of RCA in the mix rises, the compressive and flexural strengths of concrete decrease [19]- [23]. The use of RCA may also make concrete more porous, which can make it less durable and more vulnerable to freeze-thaw damage [1].…”

“…40 It offers a scientific basis for the destruction or remediation of fireproof structures made with geopolymer concrete and helps to generalise the use of geopolymer concrete. [41][42][43][44][45] The non-destructive identification and deterioration of fire-damaged buildings are always utilised for ultrasonic testing. 46 Geopolymers are highly fire-resistant due to their inorganic structure, and they have exceptional thermal resistance with little gel structure deterioration identification up to 700°C-800°C.…”
