“…On the other hand, KDRI showed the best correlation with both recipient one‐yr renal function and graft survival. Since the development of the KDRI by Rao , the KDRI has been shown to be a good prognostic tool for graft outcome in regions with mean CIT over 17 h . Our data showed that the KDRI is also a good prognostic tool for graft outcome even in regions with short CIT, in contrast to the UNOS criteria for ECD that does not have a good prognostic value.…”

“…The DGF risk calculator uses 22 donor, recipient, and organ parameters to calculate the relative risk at DGF (5). This model has been verified and validated in various external cohorts (31,32). However, as stated in the original paper, this algorithm holds true for (large) patient populations, but has limited value for individual patients.…”

“…Ultimate baseline creatinine is likely to overwhelmingly be influenced by donorderived features in line with a donor-risk index. 21,22 Future work will focus on more accurate correlation between the pattern or phases of DGF observed and the specific perioperative insults. It may be that interventions and therapies (eg, normothermic reperfusion) are found to alter the pattern of DGF observed.…”
