Prediction Method of Collapse Behavior of Timber Space Frame Subjected to Excessive Vertical Load

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose a prediction method for the collapse mode and its relevant bearing capacity of a timber space frame subjected to vertica ！ load such as excessive snow load・ Experimental and analytical studies for the 1／ 10 scale bastc timber structural models were carried out in order to investigate the mode type and its maximum vertical load when some type of collapse mode Qccured ． As a result ， the predicted results showed good agreement with the experimental ones when the spring stiffnesses of connections were estimated apPropriately through the actual loading test of connection models ．
