Abstract: Background: Streptococcus sanguinis can contribute to tooth demineralization, which can lead to dental caries. Antibiotics used indefinitely to treat dental caries can lead to bacterial resistance. Discovering new antibacterial agents from natural products like Ocimum basilicum will help combat antibiotic resistance.
